Well over three hundred people from all across Ireland gathered in Shannon Airport on Sunday 11th as well a sizeable contingent from the Communist Party Of Ireland to support the monthly Shannonwatch vigil. Veteran peace activist Edward Horgan a former captain in the Irish Defence Forces introduced peace activists who read out the names of the children who have been killed in Gaza since October 7th.
Other speakers included Catherine Connolly TD and Leas-Cheann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann since July 2020, Singer Mary Coughlan, Margraretta D’arcy, Bernadette Delvin and Roger Cole from PANA. A call was made for the release of Julian Assange who is locked in Belmarsh British Jail in horrible conditions.
