Today Saturday 16th April. Activists within the Communist Party Of Ireland stood shoulder to shoulder with our comrades in Palestine and their supporters in Dublin with the Emergency Vigil for Palestine that took place on Dublin’s O’Connell Street. This protest is in response to the escalation of violence by Israeli occupation forces over the past two weeks, which has seen at least 12 people – including three children – shot dead and scores of others wounded since the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan; eight people have been killed in the past four days alone.
Over the same period Israeli occupation forces have conducted almost 400 incursions into Palestinian communities, arresting 150 people, including 15 children. The International Community needs to stand up too the Israeli Government’s aggression.
