Local activists were out on Tuesday evening supporting the Dublin Communities Against Racism ( DCAR) group who were distributing a leaflet targeting these purveyors of hate who seek division among the community. At DCAR Stated The South West Inner city has long suffered from a high degree of social exclusion and maginalisation. A century ago, the tenements were among the worst in Europe. In the 1980s and 90s flat complexes in this area were a byword for poverty and deprivation. These were as a result of Government policies. Then there was no immigration into Ireland. DCAR call on all residents of the south west inner city to reject the anti-immigrant rhetoric and protests and to UNITE and organise to fight for what the community really needs: Decent Housing and proper facilities and service for ALL
