CPI International Secretary meets with Lao People’s Revolutionary Party

The discussion focused on the current challenges faced by the Lao PDR, including the devastating impact of unexploded ordnance dropped by the United States in its war against Lao, Vietnamese and Cambodian people. Laos is per capita the most bombed nation on earth.

The Lao PRP is currently moving towards developing a major universal health care program, as well as continuing its achievements in eradicating illiteracy and improving the education level of all the ethnic groups within Laos. The People’s Republic of China has recently build a massive Railway as part of the Belt and Road Initiative. A clear point that where imperialism destroys, socialism builds.

It was agreed that relations between the CPI and the Lao PRP would continue based on the Lao and Irish peoples shared struggle against imperialism and for peace
